About Me

Hey! So Glad You're Here.

Kerique Hoo-Kim is a poet and writer whose work speaks to the quiet, often hidden spaces of the human heart. Born in Jamaica, W.I., and raised in the United States from the age of twelve, her writing is deeply influenced by her cross-cultural journey and personal transformation.

Kerique fell in love with language at a young age. For her, poetry became more than an art—it became a way to survive, process, and rise above pain. Her writing explores the depths of heartbreak, emotional trauma, identity, forgiveness, and the complexities of love with clarity, honesty, and emotional rawness. She blends storytelling with lyrical precision, weaving truth, imagery, and introspection into verses that feel both personal and universal.

Her debut collection, My Forbidden Truth, is a testament to her evolution—not just as a writer, but as a woman who has walked through the fire of disappointment, been scarred by betrayal, and found healing in the very words she once used to make sense of the hurt.

Kerique writes not only to be heard, but to connect—with those who have been silenced, who are still healing, or who need the reminder that they are not alone. Her poetry is for the feelers, the forgivers, the broken-hearted, and the brave.

Love,

Kerique T Hoo-Kim

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
